Launch of the ZALIS data Centre, built on open source technology using Ubuntu and KVM/Libvirt combo. Not forgetting the latest in Open Source storage solutions..CEPH.

Ceph storage (CEPH) is a distributed storage solution that allows you to scale horizontally with multiple machines/heads instead of the more traditional methodologies which use centralized heads with large amounts of storage attached to them.

The principle here is that you should be able to buy lots of inexpensive computers with a bunch of direct attached storage and just cluster them to achieve scalability. Also, without a central point of failure or performance bottleneck you should be able to scale beyond the limitations of our past storage architectures. ... See more

KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is a virtualization infrastructure for the Linux kernel that turns it into a hypervisor, which was merged into the Linux kernel mainline in February 2007. KVM requires a processor with hardware virtualization extension. Libvirt is a toolkit to interact with the virtualization capabilities of recent versions of Linux (and other OSes). This is a building block to KVM.

TWO WEEK'S BREAK (ACADEMY):

Hello Family,

Please be informed that the Royal Cubs Academy shall take a two week's break and resume on the weekend of 21-22 March 2020 effective immediately.

Our Senior Men's Basketball Team shall participate in the UCU Open Tournament next weekend, 14-15 March, for our very first time as we prepare for our 2020 League Season which starts Saturday 21 March 2020.

As part of the Tropical Royals family, the Royal Cubs Academy shall be supporting the Senior Team in the upcoming engagements. We apologise for any related inconveniences and request you to stand with us all the way.
